We get to work with some great brands, and it’s especially interesting when they are so recognisable. Heycar is a premium used car service that lets you find and buy your next car ‘without leaving your living room’.
The project was designed in InDesign, by some very talented clients of ours, and we built both a PowerPoint and Google Slides version for the client’s new brand. We reviewed the designs to see what differences we had between the two software, as Google Slides has some very specific limitations that you don’t have in the more capable PowerPoint. Thankfully, Google was kind enough to add the ability to use picture placeholders, which was a recent new feature, only added just before we started this project.
The design uses DM Sans from the Google Fonts library for the main text. Normal, Medium and Bold are used for specific text or heading levels.
We wanted to have the PowerPoint and Google Slides templates work as closely as we could, to make it easier on the users. We included some guidance slides to explain how to use colours, icons and other page content. Charts were created in shapes that the user could easily amend to display the data they had, but ‘Google Sheets’ could be used to create live charts, but some loss of design would be anticipated, due to chart limitations.
The template presentation included 67 predefined slide layouts and 115 example slides, with predefined and editable content.
